Why Does MAP Testing Always Ruin My May?

Every spring, as the blossoms bloom and the school year winds down, MAP testing sneaks in like an uninvited guest. I pour my heart into teaching, only to watch my students’ scores fail to reflect their true growth. The tech glitches, the confused faces of parents and administrators—sometimes I wonder if the test is measuring anything at all! It’s ironic, isn’t it?
