🌳 Welcome to Panhandle Playground! 🌳

I recently discovered the hidden gem that is Panhandle Playground, nestled between Oak and Fell St. in San Francisco's Panhandle. Let me tell you about this little slice of paradise! 🌳✨ Renovated with a budget of $3.2 million and opening its gates in November 2019, this playground is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department and the SF Parks Alliance's Let’sPlaySF! Initiative. Huge props to the brilliant landscape architects at RHAA for their exceptional work. But what sets this playground apart? Well, hold on tight! It's not your average play area. Here's what you can expect: 💃 Musical drums installation for budding musicians 🤸‍♂️ Two slides catering to different age groups 🏞️ Swing sets that will make you feel like a kid again 🌲 Quirky log climbing set for a touch of adventure All of this against the backdrop of San Francisco's nature, creating a serene and beautiful setting. And guess what? It's completely free! Now, here are some details you need to know: 🐶 No dogs allowed in the playground 🅿️ Ample street parking available next to the Panhandle 🌞 Shaded by lush trees for a cool retreat on sunny days 🚽 Bathrooms conveniently located nearby So, if you're looking for a delightful spot to unwind and play, Panhandle Playground is the place to be. Orinda Travel Log • Steam Train🚂 Library📚 and Beautiful Theatre🎥

Orinda is an interesting small town, bordering Oakland, but it's a legit pure-white neighborhood, with A+ schools and excellent safety. Today, recommend several nice spots to visit! If you live in the South Bay area, it's kinda far, about 1 hour by car(sympathize with the gas cost), plan for both Berkeley-Hill and Oakland-Hill! Not sure how? Take reference from my flash-visit-with-kids collection! First stop: Retro steam train 🚩Redwood Valley Railway 2481 Grizzly Peak Blvd, Orinda, CA 94563 See pic 1/2/3. Many thought this belongs to Berkeley, but it's actually within Orinda's territory! Opens only on weekends, ticket price is $3.5/ea(for both adults n kids), free for those under 2! Hidden in the deep forest, super refreshing ambiance, not too crowded, with little waiting time. The tour inside the mountain lasts about 15 minutes, which is very relaxing. Pets are allowed, saw people bring cats n dogs on board! Second stop: Orinda public library 🚩Orinda Library 26 Orinda Way, Orinda, CA 94563 See pic 4/5/6. Life ain't just about fun, we gotta read n learn too, perfect blend of literacy n martial arts, you know! Mad props to Orinda Library, the most beautiful in the Bay Area? Maybe not LOL! Definitely more beautiful than the neighboring Lafayette and Walnut-Creek libraries! Room atmosphere's comfortable, books are well-arranged; has a special kid's reading area! Aside from books, there's also a small art exhibition space, a perfect place for cultivation of the mind! Third stop: Orinda theater 🚩Orinda Theatre 4 Orinda Theatre Square # 3308, Orinda, CA 94563 See pic 7/8/9. Built in the 1930s, voted the most beautiful theater in California! Sound equipment's average, but with the golden screening hall, feels like you're in a palace! Being in such a film atmosphere, what more can we ask for? After the movie, go to nearby Theater-Square for food n drinks - complete package! In conclusion: small town, so many stories. Come n visit! #OrindaTravel #SteamTrain #LibraryLove #BeautifulTheatre #SmallTownStories #FamilyFun #HiddenGems #BayArea

Treasure Hunting with Kids at NorCal's Biggest Outdoor Antique Market 🌈

The antique market located on Alameda Island proudly claims to be the largest in Northern California! It only opens on the first Sunday each month, from the early 6 AM until the midday 3 PM. Adult entrance fees are $10, and kids under 16 go in for free! Today, we brought our kid to look for treasures, and before we started, we filled him in on stories of people striking it rich, like finding a priceless work of art at an antique market or getting a diamond for the price of a crystal. He was so excited he couldn't wait to start exploring, totally convinced that he was destined for great finds [laugh-cry emoji]. The market is called Antiques Faire, and its thing is that all items have to be 40 years old or older. They're not too strict about that though; there are items younger than 40 years. Items for sale include (but are not limited to) jewelry, trinkets, furniture, kitchenware, clothes, rugs, and so much more. The prices are reasonable and negotiable! Here are some of the things we scored: *A brand-new 24k gold wristwatch from 1983 (see pic 8). It has 1G of gold, listed for $249, but we talked it down to $150. We checked the gold price at home and found out it's roughly $80/G. So we struck gold and profited about $70 [laugh-cry emoji]. *A natural garnet necklace (see pic 8). It's a little short so it can be worn as a choker or wrap twice as a bracelet, all for $10. We couldn't negotiate this price. No biggie, we bought it anyway. *A pure silver knife (see pic 9). My little brother chose this shiny dining knife, initially $10. When checking out, the seller saw the Sterling Stamp on the knife and tried to revoke the deal but gave in for the kid's sake. This was quite an oversight on their part because based on its weight it was worth more than $10! On top of these, we also got a ceramic bunny figurine set for my sister. It started at $15, and the kid did well to bargain it down to $10. Good deal! Anyone interested can come and check it out. #TreasureHunting #NorCalAntiqueMarket #OutdoorMarket #FamilyFun #VintageFinds #BargainHunting #HiddenGems #AntiqueTreasures
