Five months in, and the novelty is gone. Yesterday, I stood in the Himalayas, the kind of place people dream about. The air was thin, the sky too blue, and for a second, I felt nothing. Not awe, not peace—just the weight of my own thoughts, louder than the wind.
I took a photo because that’s what you do. But the picture doesn’t show the ache behind my eyes or how tired I am of my own company. I thought solo travel would be freedom. Turns out, you can’t outrun yourself, even at 4,000 meters.
