Over the years, I’ve learned that some of the worst fishing advice comes from the loudest voices. Here’s what I’ve stopped listening to: 1️⃣ Big box store employees - Most have never wet a line. Their "expertise" comes from product manuals, not actual fishing experience. 2️⃣ Gear snobs who critique your setup - I've caught more fish with garage sale gear than some guys with $2000 setups. Don't let anyone shame your equipment - it's about skill, not price tags. 3️⃣ Big box store "sales" - I always walk out with way more junk than I need. Those end caps are wallet killers! 4️⃣ Expensive reel + cheap rod combo - Biggest mistake ever! Your rod does ALL the work - casting, feeling bites, setting hooks.
