It is sad, trying to get a better life for your family. Only to be turned away. At least they were treated with as much compassion and kindness as possible while still doing your job. I am sure there are plenty of hateful people that would have just been cruel to them. Do you tell them how to come legally, as in paperwork and all? I understand we can't just let everyone in. I also understand how blessed and lucky I am to be an American. I wish everyone could stop all the hate and we could all work together on our one planet. Home is home! If it was safe and people could have better lives they would be happy to stay in their country, as we are in ours. We would rather spend billions of dollars to destroy and kill, then to help others. I don't want to hear how we save everyone. We have had help from our allies many many times in history. It will never change. Especially now. Our country is full of hatred, even for our own.

If You Can Work, You Should

I know this Medicaid work requirement thing is controversial, but honestly… I kinda agree with it. 🤷‍♂️ My wife and I both work — she does night shifts at Walmart, I do warehouse hours. We don’t qualify for Medicaid, even though we barely scrape by some months. Then I see people around me who are fully capable of working, not doing much, and still getting full healthcare. That doesn’t sit right with me. Now, I’m not saying everyone should be forced to work when they’re sick or caring for family. But if you can contribute — even part-time — I think it’s fair. The system’s falling apart because too many people take more than they give. Healthcare shouldn’t be free for those who won’t lift a finger. #WorkOrLoseCare

December 9, 1952 marked a turning point in American history, even though most people at the time didn’t realize how much the moment would reshape the nation. On this day, the U.S. Supreme Court began hearing arguments in Brown v. Board of Education and several related cases challenging school segregation. Families from Kansas, South Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, and the District of Columbia all stepped forward, insisting that separate classrooms created unequal futures for their children. Their voices carried a message that had been ignored for decades, and this was the first time the highest court in the country had to confront it head-on. The arguments unfolded over several days, exposing a truth that had long been clear to the families living it. Segregated schools were not just separate, they were deeply unequal in funding, safety, resources, and opportunity. Attorneys including Thurgood Marshall pushed the Court to acknowledge the harm being done to children who were told, by law, that they were worth less. It challenged the very idea of fairness in public education and forced the nation to face its contradictions. Though the Court would not reach a final decision until 1954, December 9 was the spark that set everything in motion. The justices’ willingness to reopen arguments multiple times showed how heavy the moment truly was. They knew the outcome would transform every district, every classroom, and every child’s understanding of what equality should look like in America. The eventual ruling, declaring school segregation unconstitutional, did more than change policy, it changed the nation’s direction. And it all began with the courage of families who refused to let inequality be the last word. #LataraSpeaksTruth #NewsBreak #HistoryMatters #AskLemon8 #BlackHistory #AmericanHistory #BrownvBoard #OnThisDay #CivilRightsHistory

Sounds like most of the comments are angry. You wanted the people who depend on snap and other benefits to suffer longer for your agenda? Im thinking no ones agenda is helping the people. All I see is anger and irrational behaviors everywhere. Adults acting like children throwing temper tantrums when they don't get their way. Im standing here watching Democrats, socialists and Republicans all being whiny brats. The people need to eat and pay bills. They need their paychecks. All you people out there mad as Hell. But are you the ones not receiving a pay check? I can't imagine what those families are feeling. The panic and worry. But the politicians are sitting back with a full belly and no problems with Healthcare. Yelling Democrat Republican is getting us no where. We need Bipartisanship. We need a government that communicates together to make things run efficiently.

The Epstein Files Conundrum

I believe that Trump at least knew about the operation that Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislane Maxwell were running. But remember Bill Clinton may have been a client, and maybe Hillary knowingly just looked the other way, knew too. If Epstein was as close to the seat of power when Clinton was still President, perhaps many of the people on Capitol Hill knew about this and also did nothing. IMO: Who is on the list is not the only thing holding this thing back. Much like the case of former Penn State football Head Coach Joe Paterno, there's a lot of people who could have come forward, but never did. Many American voters, who expect these people to represent them would be quite dismayed and upset that these people instead decided to look the other way, while those above them took advantage of underage women.

My Customers (SNAP) and My Subsidies (USDA) Are Both Gone

I'm a farmer who sells at the local farmers market. I have two types of customers: middle-class folks with cash, and low-income families using SNAP (EBT cards). SNAP accounts for 40% of my weekend revenue. The first week of November, they all vanished. The EBT cards had no money. At the exact same time, the farm loan I need from the USDA to buy seeds for next season is frozen. And the crop reports from the USDA that I need to plan my harvest? Publication suspended. This is the policy absurdity: The government (USDA) is supposed to pay me (the farmer) to grow the food, and pay the poor (SNAP users) to buy my food. Now the government is shut down, and both ends of that deal are broken. I'm the guy in the middle getting crushed. #Farmer #USDA #SNAPShutdown
