One Year In, Colorado Still Feels Foreign

We've been Colorado residents for a year. On paper, anyway. July 4th week, we finally did what tourists do—explored the parts of our state we'd only seen on Instagram. Drove past mountains we recognize from license plates. Hiked trails that locals probably discovered as kids. Every photo felt like evidence we were trying to collect. Proof we belong here now. But standing on those overlooks, I kept thinking: when does a place stop feeling like somewhere you're visiting? When do you stop introducing yourself as "we moved here from..."? Maybe that's the thing about big moves. You spend the first year exploring your new home like you're still deciding whether to stay. Even when the lease is signed and your voter registration is updated. We got some good shots though. 🏔️ #NewResidentLife #ColoradoReality #HomeBut NotHome #Travel
