Why is my MRI bill $35K? Is this even real? 😳

So I just got slapped with a crazy MRI bill—$35K! Thankfully, insurance knocked it down to $16K, but I still have to pay $2K out of pocket. I’m seriously questioning if the actual cost of this test was ever anywhere near $2K. How is this even possible? Has anyone else been hit with a ridiculous bill like this?
