those legendary multi-tip pencils

Unlocked core memory: those mechanical pencils where you’d push the used tip into the bottom and a fresh one would magically appear at the top! ✏️ The CURRENCY of 4th grade. Pure status symbol. I’d jealously guard my collection like dragon treasure. But the absolute TRAUMA when you’d lose just ONE tip and the whole system would collapse. Suddenly your prized possession became utterly useless. Still didn’t stop me from begging my mom for more every time we went to the store. Must’ve had at least 12 of these engineering marvels at one point. Were these called Push Point pencils? Or am I making that up?
