cat bites us HARD when excited—should we get her a buddy??

We’ve had our little cat for 2 months now—she’s about 1 year old and super energetic. But lately, she’s been biting a lot, and not in a cute love bite kind of way. Whenever she gets hyped up, she sinks her teeth into me or my husband, and it actually hurts. It’s always during play or when she’s running around being silly, never out of fear or aggression. Someone told us she might be bored and suggested we get another cat as a playmate. We're open to it, but not sure if that would help or just double the chaos 😂 Anyone dealt with this before?
