Appearance matters more than skills?

I watched a Brilliant teacher get passed over for years until she fixed her 'appearance problem.' It's infuriating but true - looking put-together matters in your career. The system is broken, but until it's fixed, invest in your presentation. A good haircut, ironed clothes, and looking alert can be your ticket to that promotion you've earned. Unfair? Absolutely.
