Here’s the latest update on the Grand Canyon National Park as of April. If you haven’t planned your trip yet, read this carefully! Current Situation (Updated in April)​​ ​​Weather Whiplash​​: Daytime temps soar to 20℃+, but nights can dip close to 0℃, with winds strong enough to blow off your eyelashes! Pack a windproof jacket and hat! ​​Crowd Alert​​: With spring break and the tail end of cherry blossom season, popular viewpoints on the South Rim get crowded after 10 AM. Arrive before 7 AM for a quieter experience. ​​North Rim Closed​​: Officially closed until May 15th. Don’t make the trip unless you’re okay with disappointment! ​​Lazy Person’s Guide (Tested and True)​​ ​​ Transportation​​: ​​Driving​​: Las Vegas to the South Rim takes about 4.5 hours. Rent an SUV as some roads are bumpy! ​​Shuttle Service​​: If you’re staying within the park, use the free shuttle.
