Reflect on lifeâs big questions with this eye-opening exercise. đ Have you ever wondered what truly matters in your life? I stumbled upon a transformative exercise from Stephen Coveyâs 7 Habits of Highly Effective Peopleâa book I highly recommend (seriously, if you havenât read it, check it out or at least the spark notes!). Hereâs the gist: imagine attending your own funeral. Picture the people who matter most to youâfamily, friends, coworkersâsharing their thoughts. What do you want them to say about you? When I did this, I realized I wanted to be remembered as loving, supportive, inspirational, and hard-working, someone who brought hope and helped others in my community and beyond. This exercise led me to create a Personal Mission Statementâa list of values I strive to embody daily. I read it often to stay focused on whatâs truly important and avoid distractions. Itâs a game-changer. Oh, and hereâs a cool phrase Iâve adopted: Memento Mori (Latin for âRemember Deathâ). It might sound intense, but it makes me reflect on how Iâm spending my time. If these next 15 minutes were my last, would I be okay with it? (Writing this post? Totally fine. đ) Whatâs your take on this?
