Gynecologic Surgery Risks for Kidney Patients

Just learned that women with kidney failure who need gynecologic surgery face very different risks depending on their treatment type and surgery approach. Vaginal hysterectomies seem safer—fewer transfusions, less ICU time, and shorter hospital stays compared to abdominal ones. But if you’re on peritoneal dialysis, the risk of complications and longer hospital stays goes way up. Kidney transplant patients fare better overall. Age and emergency surgeries also make things riskier. Super important info if you or someone you know is facing this! #KidneyHealth #GynecologicSurgery #WomensHealth #HealthNews #PatientCare #Health
