The weight of an age - gap relationship​

I'm the result of a huge age - gap relationship, and it still makes me feel nauseous. 😷 When I think about it, my stomach churns. My mom was 14 and my dad was 24 when they met. I was born when she was 19. I hate how they've normalized it. My brother, mom, and even my step - dad joke about it, like “Dad met Mom in kindergarten.” 🤢 My mom still thinks she knew what she was doing, defending adult - child relationships. When a similar situation happened recently, she yelled at me for overreacting. That's when I left home. 😡 I know my dad hasn't done it since, but it still disgusts me. He knows we know the truth.
