As we prepare for the arrival of our third baby in August, I thought everything was lining up — until today. My mom, who we had counted on to help with our older kids during my scheduled C-section, casually mentioned she booked an out-of-country trip just days before my due date. I was stunned. This was the first I had heard of it. It brought back memories of a past surgery when she also left for a mission trip, and I recovered mostly with just my husband’s support.
