Facing Job Loss for Recording Calls as a Deaf Employee

Navigating the workplace as a deaf person comes with unique challenges, but nothing prepared me for this. My boss is considering firing me because I recorded our phone conversations—something I did so I could accurately follow and review our discussions. I never imagined this would be seen as "illegal" or grounds for dismissal. I’m a 27-year-old woman, and I rely on these recordings to do my job well. It’s heartbreaking to feel like my need for accessibility is being used against me. I just want to be treated fairly and have the tools I need to succeed at work. Has anyone else faced something similar? How did you handle it? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences below. #WorkplaceAccessibility #DeafCommunity #CareerChallenges #WorkplaceRights #JobCareer
