Why did McDonald's discontinue their original cinnamon rolls from the 80's and 90's?

I am not talking about Cinnabon or any other outside brand they carried later. McDonald's used to make their own cinnamon rolls and they were incredible. I know they were there in the late 90's but it seems like in the early 2000's they went away. #McDonald's #Nostalgia
