Lately, I’ve found myself wondering if I should be discouraging my child’s open displays of affection. My little one loves to give hugs and hold hands, even with friends and extended family. Part of me cherishes these sweet moments, but another part worries about teaching boundaries and respecting others’ comfort zones. I remember being a very affectionate child myself, and how those moments of closeness made me feel safe and loved.
