I can't believe what happened. My mom's new boyfriend brought his German Shepherd home, and it terrified our cat. I immediately took my cat to safety and always made sure the pet gate was securely closed when I left for school. But today, when I came home, I found the gate open. I rushed to the backyard and discovered my cat dead—the dog's face was covered in my cat's blood. It was absolutely horrifying. The poor dog looked panicked, and it’s clear this wasn’t its fault. But here’s the worst part: my mom’s boyfriend seemed proud of himself, and when my mom came home, she brushed it off, saying, “It’s just a cat.
