Talk to your wife first. Both of you need to set boundaries and agree to stick to them. Then both of you need to have a serious talk with the other couple. Tell them your boundaries. If they can't accept them, then the friendship is over. Leave the past in the past, and focus on your future together.
An open marriage is not healthy. It's just an excuse to have sex with other people and attempting to justify it.

1st, I would get it out of my head that a 3-some or 4-some is bad. this type of sex action is good for your health. Take an elderly couple, say 45, married for 25 years.
