choosing the right car for a swiss road trip

Last summer, we spent ages planning a road trip through Switzerland and the Dolomites, and now I'm stuck at the car rental counter, staring at a Mini Cooper and a compact SUV. The Swiss roads are as pretty as a postcard, but some of those mountain passes look like they were designed for goats, not cars. I keep thinking, will the Mini Cooper squeeze through those tiny village streets, or am I going to regret not having the extra comfort and space of an SUV when we're driving for hours or hauling our luggage? My budget is tight—about 80 euros a day—so I can't go wild, but I also don't want to be cramped or stressed the whole trip. Has anyone actually driven these routes in a small car? Did you end up wishing for more space, or was it a relief to have something nimble? And if you picked an SUV, did you ever feel it was too big for those narrow Swiss roads? I feel like every travel blog says something different. Would love to hear some real stories—especially if you had to do a three-point turn on a mountain road! #SwitzerlandRoadTrip #CarRentalAdvice #TravelQuestions #Dolomites #TravelDilemmas #Travel
