exploring el badi palace: is it worth the hype?

We finally made it to the famous El Badi Palace in Marrakech after hearing so much about its grandeur. Honestly, I was expecting to be blown away by ancient beauty and rich history. But when we got there, all I saw were crumbling walls, empty courtyards, and a few scattered storks nesting on the ruins. Don’t get me wrong, the place has a certain charm, especially with the sunlight hitting the old stones and the echoes of the past all around. But I couldn’t help but wonder if we missed something. We spent more time dodging selfie sticks than actually learning about the palace’s history. I felt a bit let down after all the hype online. Has anyone else visited and felt the same?
