Busch Stadium Blues: Where Are the Fans?

Redbird Nation, what’s up with the empty seats at Busch? The Cards are heating up in May—8 wins in the last 12! But even with Sonny Gray and a fresh approach from the front office, the energy in the stands just isn’t what it used to be. The business side is rolling out $5 Fridays and concerts, but is that enough to bring the flock back? How do you think the Cards can reconnect with the fanbase after last year’s rough ride? #STLCards #BuschStadium #MLB #Sports

Been saying it for years. this is only the tip of the iceberg. As I grew up, MLB games were on regular TV. Our family was poor. But we could count on watching the Cubs/Sox games. Today you can't even watch road games ! They're losing their base! Today, when I can afford the game, my interest has plummeted due to their extreme greed! Let the poor see the games!!! Save baseballs future! Time is running out!

We all know what the real problem is but if it's revealed the majority of people would holler racist. It's just a fact that liberal run cities are riddled with crime therefore decent folks fear for their safety. Thanks Democrats 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕

Baseball is dying. OBP, OPS, SLG, all those bs stats are ruining the game. Not to mention, there's no salary cap. Revenue sharing is lame. The public doesn't wanna see closers make millions for pitching one inning. Really? Get your head out mlb. Make baseball affordable again & stop the stupid stats already. Thank you.

All players, even those unworthy, are multi millionaires. Hit .250 and drive in 50 runs and you’re a multimillionaire. Win 6 games with a 4.42 ERA and you’re a multimillionaire. Hit 21 HR’s while batting.238 and you’re a multimillionaire. Fans cannot relate. I struggle to follow a game that I cannot afford to attend.

How about St. Louis crime: you run the risk of being mugged and raped on the streets. Plus you run the risk of being robbed by ticket offices, concession vendors and parking fees.

if the team owners would stop sucking all the tax money to build new stadiums maybe they could take care of the crime problem

The game is too slow and dull. Ask any kid if they would rather go to a game or play video games and see how they answer.

Like the NFL a spinning merry-go-round of double A players on the MLB teams. Nobody knows the players names because they change every year. Skilled players is an invented term to identify veterans. Add in billion dollar stadiums paid by the taxpayer, outrages prices for admission, concessions and parking and you have the perfect recipe for loss of interest.
