How My Cat Became My Night Nurse

Last week, I discovered that cats can be better nurses than people. I was hit with a brutal stomach bug and ended up camped out on my bathroom floor, clutching a bucket and questioning my life choices. My cat, who usually treats me like her underpaid butler, surprised me. Instead of ignoring my misery, she parked herself right outside the bathroom, meowing every time I groaned. Between my sprints to the toilet, she’d nudge her head against my arm and purr like a tiny engine, as if to say, “You’re not dying on my watch.” She even brought me her favorite toy mouse, which I’m pretty sure was a peace offering or maybe a bribe for extra treats later. When I finally dozed off, she curled up next to me, refusing to leave my side. Turns out, even the most aloof pets know when you need them most. 10/10 would recommend a cat nurse (minus the fur in your face). #PetLove #CatCare #SickDaySupport #Pets
