Is My Cat Secretly Plotting or Just Playing?

Okay, so my cat has this thing where he pounces on my feet from under the couch. Sometimes he gets me good—tiny scratches, nothing serious, but I swear he’s got a strategy. Like, is he just playing, or am I being initiated into some secret feline fight club? He’ll stare at me with those big, innocent eyes, then suddenly—bam!—ambush. I want to believe it’s all fun and games, but part of me wonders if he’s keeping score. Anyone else’s pet have this weird line between play and low-key menace?
