We were out for our usual morning walk in the neighborhood, just enjoying the fresh air and chatting about what to have for breakfast. Suddenly, this massive old tree branch—one of those everyone calls a 'widowmaker'—crashed down right in front of us, missing a parked car by maybe a foot. My heart was pounding! I always thought those warnings about dangerous branches were a bit dramatic, but seeing it happen in real life really shook me up. Now I’m wondering, do any of you actually check the trees around your house or street? I feel like I’ve been ignoring them for years, thinking, "What are the odds?" But after today, I’m not so sure.
