I remember standing at the bottom of Batu Caves in Malaysia, staring up at those famous 272 rainbow-colored steps. My knees were already aching just thinking about the climb, but everyone online said it was a must-see. We’d already spent 20 minutes trying to find a decent spot to park, and the humidity was making my shirt stick to my back. Still, I figured, how hard could it be? Halfway up, I started questioning my life choices. The steps seemed to get steeper, and the monkeys darting around didn’t help my nerves. I kept telling myself the view at the top would be worth it, but honestly, I was too out of breath to enjoy it when I finally made it. The temple was beautiful, but I couldn’t help but wonder if all that effort was really necessary. Has anyone else felt like these “must-see” spots sometimes end up being more exhausting than enjoyable? I get that it’s a famous place, but I’m starting to think some of these travel lists are written by people who never actually go! #travelstruggles #batucaves #malaysiaadventures #Travel
