My Dog Gifts Me Socks at 2AM

Every night, like clockwork, my dog turns into a sock-delivery service. I’ll be half-asleep, and suddenly there’s a damp, slightly chewed sock dropped right on my pillow. Sometimes it’s a slipper, once it was a scrunchie (no idea where he found that). He sits there, tail wagging, waiting for my reaction like he’s just handed me the crown jewels. I used to think he was just bored, but now I’m convinced he’s trying to save me from the dangers of cold feet—or maybe he’s just flexing his treasure-hunting skills. Either way, I can’t decide if I should be grateful or mildly concerned about the growing pile of laundry on my bed. Anyone else’s pet have a weird nighttime ritual?
