Cat Person or Dog Person? Help Me Decide!

So, I’m at this crossroads: cat or dog? My only real dog experience was a disaster. I house-sat my friend’s pug for a week. It immediately peed on my sneakers, barked at every passing cloud, and demanded constant playtime. I barely slept. Cute? Yes. Exhausting? Absolutely. Fast forward to my roommate’s cat: total opposite. This guy was basically a furry roommate who paid rent in purrs. Feed, scoop, done. Sometimes he’d curl up next to me, but mostly he just wanted to nap in sunbeams and ignore my existence. Zero drama. Is this the norm? Are cats really this low-maintenance, or did I just get unlucky with dogs? I want a pet, but I also want my sanity.
