how did i end up with a carrot bigger than my hand this year?

This year, I pulled a carrot from my garden that was literally bigger than my hand. I couldn’t believe it. Last season, my carrots were tiny and kind of sad, so I switched things up. I started by loosening the soil way deeper than before. I also made sure to thin out the seedlings early, even though it felt weird to pull up healthy sprouts. It totally paid off.
