Why I Struggle With Teachers Using Punishment on My Child

I know every classroom needs structure, but I just can’t get behind the idea of a teacher punishing my kid. As a parent, it’s tough to hear that my child was singled out for discipline, especially when I believe there are more compassionate ways to guide children. I remember feeling so small and misunderstood when I was punished in school, and I never want my child to carry that same weight.
