Struggling to Stay in My Lane as a New Driver

New driver here, 26 and just started learning to drive. Every time I’m on the road, I get this intense fear that I’ll sideswipe a parked car or get too close to someone passing by. My instinct is to swerve away, but that just puts me out of my lane and makes things worse. It’s only been a week, but I feel stuck and embarrassed, especially since I’m only practicing on empty roads.
