best travel games for two that aren’t just cards

We’re getting ready for a beach vacation, and I’m already picturing those inevitable rainy afternoons stuck inside. Last year, we ended up playing Uno so many times I started dreaming in colors! I want to pack something different this time—something for just the two of us, but I’m not interested in another deck of cards. The problem is, every time I search for travel games, it’s always the same suggestions: Uno, regular cards, or some complicated board game that takes up half a suitcase. I’d love something small enough to toss in my carry-on, but still fun enough that we won’t get bored after two rounds.
