Hey everyone, Iām a 26-year-old guy working at a tech consulting firm for the past two years. Things were going greatāI even snagged two promotionsāuntil depression hit me hard and my work started slipping. My manager put me on a performance improvement plan (PIP) with a 60-day deadline, but the expectations were so vague I felt like I was playing a game with invisible rules. I tried to get some clarity by asking for measurable goals, but my supervisor just called me to say some expectations might not even apply, and parts of the plan were copy-pasted. After the 60 days, I was told, āYouāre improving, but not enough, and itās hard to measure.ā Apparently, Iām doing what Iām told, but not taking enough initiative. Now, theyāve extended my PIP indefinitely and are encouraging me to apply for other roles in the company. I canāt help but feel like Iām being set up to fail, and itās honestly stressing me out. Has anyone else been through something like this? Iād really appreciate any advice or stories you can share. Thanks for listening. š #WorkplaceStruggles #PerformanceReview #CareerAdvice #JobCareer
