Last weekend, we packed up our backpacks, filled our water bottles, and set out to find a kid-friendly hiking trail near Valencia. My 7-year-old was bouncing with excitement—until we realized that most of the so-called 'easy' trails were either too rocky, had steep drop-offs, or were just endless stretches with no shade. We even drove an hour out to a trail that was supposed to be perfect for families, only to find a sign warning about wild boars! I love the idea of hiking as a family, but sometimes I wonder if these trails are really designed with kids in mind. We want something scenic, safe, and not too long—ideally with a spot to rest and maybe even a little café or playground at the end. Is that too much to ask? Or am I just being picky? I’d love to hear if anyone has actually found a trail in Spain that truly works for younger kids, or if it’s always a bit of a gamble. Honestly, I’m starting to think the best part of these hikes is the ice cream we get afterwards, not the trail itself! #familyhiking #spaintravel #valencia #Travel
