Walking Out: When a Store Tantrum Becomes a Teachable Moment

Today, I made the tough call to leave the store mid-shopping trip after my child had a full-blown temper tantrum. As embarrassing as it felt in the moment, I knew that sometimes the best lesson is to step away and show that certain behaviors aren’t okay, even if it means abandoning a cart full of groceries. It’s never easy to be the parent everyone’s staring at, but I reminded myself that these moments are part of the journey.
