Lately, Iāve been stuck in this whirlwind of trust issuesābetween my dad, his new family, and even my fiancĆ©. After my dad chose his new wife over me, I helped them get a house nearby (yep, I paid the downpaymentāironic, right?). We agreed on Sunday dinners, but I drew the line: his new family isnāt welcome in my home after what his wife said about my mom. The trust cracks didnāt stop there. My fiancĆ© and I had to talk about boundaries, privacy, and even signed a pre-nup (he was cool with it, but still, it stings that we even needed one). Sometimes I wonder if Iām just being paranoid, or if Iām right to guard my space so fiercely. Iām angry, confused, and honestly, just tired. How do you rebuild trust after itās been shattered? How do you stop questioning everyoneās motives? let it be. we are to honor and obey our parents. HOWEVER when you marry your wife is your #1, over your children. (I guess I should say Biblically which is how I try to live) You actually put God first, but on earth your spouse comes first above everyone including yourself and your children! So you being engaged should focus on the family you're creating with your own spouse! your father is to put his wife first. money is the root of all evil. if you get something or don't it does not matter just focus on your OWN blessing of a family! focus on your fiance, that is your family now! I pray things go well for you both in the future. God bless you all.

You never know what will happen in life! My ex-husband had 2 children when we got married I had 1 we then had a daughter together. We always got along. He remarried got divorced all of our kids are grown we have grandkids. He passed away I was there when he passed away to support my daughter. I'm disabled my oldest bonus son needed a place to live after his relationship ended he now takes care of me his step mom. Blended families are hard! But remember if kids are included it's even harder for them I didn't always like my ex but my daughter loved him and I never disrespected him especially in front of her. She always said it made her life easier because we got along but what she didn't know didn't hurt her. Today's world is toxic enough don't bring that toxic into your family.

Wake up. Your father didn't divorce you, he divorced your mother! He's a grown man that has a mind of his own. something was said about your mom, well discuss it with them both like an adult that you are. Dad wants this woman in his life or he wouldn't have married her so give your dad the respect of letting him being happy and give step mom a chance. Every adult faces issues with others from time to time but those issues should not be a permanent wedge.

You are a grown woman now. Your father has fulfilled his obligation to you. You should not have asked your father to choose. He is now her husband for better or for worse. The turmoil you are feeling, you bring upon yourself. Your father loves both of you.
If you are not also willing to choose your fiancee over all others once you are married, you should rethink your marriage.

Kids are pretty smart. They know which is the loving Grandma. Both my grandfather's were step- grandpas. When the one that acted like Grandpa had a heart attack someone said I shouldn't be so upset, he wasn't my real Grandpa. The upset teenaged me punched him in the face for saying he wasn't my real Grandpa.

if you can not put your children 1st after splitting up with their other parent, you should not be starting a new relationship. Your children should always come first. if you do get remarried, your minor children should still come first, you vowed to protect them and care for them the moment you and their other parent created them. if your new spouse can not accept that, then you should not be with them.

Sadly the kids should always come first not the spouses with in reason and if you don't put the kids first then you got cps and cops and once that cycle starts it won't end until every child is grown and God has nothing to do with any of it cause if you tell the those people I'm following God's orders your kids are gone. I have nothing to do with my father either because he lies about everything that lead to my parents divorce and even after cause he refused to be a father or dad and somehow that was my mother's fault it still is her fault according to him and she is dead and I have 5 kids of my own and I was faced with the choice my kids or their father I choose my kids if I choose their dad we would both be on meth and probly on our way to the grave every person is different so do what feels right to you listen to your gut its never lead me wrong
