hiking yosemite with a newborn: what did we forget?

We’re about to take our two-month-old on his first big adventure—Yosemite! After weeks of hiking around San Diego with him, we feel pretty confident, but this trip feels like a whole new level. Our little guy is usually a champ on the trails, but I keep second-guessing if we’ve packed everything we need for him. Our list is already a mile long: diapers, wipes, merino wool onesies, fleece booties, a puffy jacket, midlayer, beanie, wet/dry bag for the inevitable diaper disasters, baby carrier, poncho, and even his favorite stuffed dog. Still, I can’t shake the feeling that we’re missing something crucial. Maybe it’s just new parent nerves, but the idea of being hours away from the nearest store with a fussy baby is honestly a little terrifying. I keep thinking about the temperature swings in Yosemite and whether we’ve packed enough layers. Or what if we run out of wipes halfway through a hike?
