can i really bring two laptops on my flight?

I’m packing for my flight from London to Canada, and here’s the thing—I’ve got two work laptops I absolutely have to bring. I’m already picturing myself at airport security, juggling both laptops and my charger cords, while the line behind me starts to grumble. Last time I flew, the security guy gave me a weird look just for having a tablet and a laptop, so now I’m worried two laptops might be pushing it. I mean, is there some unspoken rule about how many devices you can carry? Or will they just wave me through as long as I take them out for screening? I don’t want to get stuck at the gate or, worse, have to leave one behind. Has anyone actually tried bringing two laptops through Heathrow or Toronto Pearson?
