how did i end up obsessed with purple petunias this summer?

It started with a single tray of purple petunias at the garden center. I grabbed them on a whim, not even sure where they'd go. Turns out, mixing them with my yellow marigolds made the whole yard pop. I learned that planting in odd numbers makes things look more natural. Watering early in the morning keeps the blooms happy and the leaves dry. I also started pinching off the dead flowers, and wow, they just kept coming back even brighter.
