Do Pets With Human Names Act More Human?

Is it just me, or do pets with human names seem to act... suspiciously human? My cat, named Steve (thanks, Dad), doesn’t just meow for food—he sits across from me at the table and stares like he’s about to ask for the WiFi password. Meanwhile, my friend’s dog, Max, has mastered the art of the judgmental sigh and only drinks water if it’s in a glass. I used to think it was all in my head, but the pattern is too weird to ignore. Animals with classic pet names—like Fluffy or Spot—just do their thing. But give them a name like Linda or George, and suddenly they’re making eye contact that feels like a therapy session.
