Degree Gets You the Job, But Not the Respect 😶

Ever feel like your biggest achievement is actually a trap? That’s exactly where I am. I just got handed the team lead role right after finishing my master’s—on paper, it sounds amazing. But in reality, I’m the youngest in the room, and it’s like my degree is the only thing people see. Every meeting, I feel invisible. My team sidesteps my suggestions, and when I try to get us moving in the same direction, it’s like I’m speaking a different language. Sometimes I wonder if they’re just waiting for me to mess up so they can say, “Told you so.” Honestly, I’m starting to question if I even belong here.
