MBA in Hand, Confidence Out the Window: When the Corner Office Feels Like a Cage

Just last month, I was on top of the world—celebrating my promotion to lead the Chicago marketing team, all thanks to my shiny new MBA. At 28, I thought I’d finally earned my seat at the table. But now? I feel like an outsider in my own office. 😅 My team is packed with veterans who’ve been here forever, and suddenly I’m their boss. Instead of support, I get polite nods and a lot of side glances. Every idea I share seems to float in the air, unclaimed and ignored. It’s like everyone’s waiting for me to trip up. Honestly, I’m struggling to find my footing. Has anyone else been thrust into a leadership role before they felt ready? I’d love to hear how you earned your team’s trust—or at least survived the awkward silences. Any advice would mean the world right now. 😔 #leadershipstruggles #youngleader #workplacewoes #JobCareer
