Is it normal to not make friends in the office?

I always thought that getting ahead at work would feel like a victory lap. But after my manager picked me to head up a new team just because I had the right credentials, it’s been anything but a celebration. Suddenly, I’m the youngest one in the room, and it feels like everyone’s just waiting for me to mess up. 😓 No one really chats with me unless it’s strictly business, and every idea I share seems to disappear into thin air. The side glances and silent doubts are impossible to ignore. It’s like I’m invisible, but not in a way that makes life easier. Has anyone else felt completely out of place after a big change at work? How did you get your team to actually see you as a leader?
