I thought freezing water was idiot-proof. I needed ice for a last-minute get-together, so I googled hacks—turns out, there are a million ways to mess this up. I cranked my freezer to arctic levels. Two hours in, I opened the door (again and again) to check. The temp kept rising. Bottles exploded, plastic trays warped, and the only thing that froze was my patience.
