Climbing the Ladder, But Where’s the Applause?

I always thought landing a leadership role would feel like a standing ovation. Instead, here I am in Austin, managing a team that barely looks up when I walk in. I’m the youngest in the room, and it feels like my age is a wall I can’t climb over. Every meeting, I sense the skepticism—like they’re waiting for me to mess up.
