Navigating Co-Parenting Boundaries as a Young Single Dad

Looking for some guidance from fellow parents! My son, just 19, is a devoted single dad to his 2-month-old daughter. Things didn’t work out with the baby’s mom, and she lives about an hour away. While she’s always been a bit challenging to communicate with, my son has done everything he can to stay involved and see his little girl. He’s on the birth certificate, which was a relief for all of us. So far, visits have only happened at her place, usually for short periods, and it’s tough to arrange more time. We recently asked if the baby could visit our home, but the mom insisted on coming along and staying the whole time. While we understand her concerns, we wish my son could have some one-on-one time with his daughter. He’s fully prepared to care for her, and we’re always there to support him. Are we wrong to hope for more independent time? Would love to hear your experiences and advice! #SingleDadJourney #CoParenting #FamilySupport #FamilyRelationships
