A few weeks ago, my 16-year-old daughter woke me up in tears at 2am. Her friend was at a party, scared and feeling unsafe—she’d been drinking, there were older boys around, and she couldn’t find a safe place to sleep. I’d just had surgery and couldn’t drive, and living in a rural area, taxis or rideshares weren’t an option. I tried calling her friend’s parents but couldn’t reach them, so I made the tough call to contact the police. They came, made sure everyone was safe, and shut down the party. No one was charged, but since then, my daughter’s friend has cut her off completely. It breaks my heart, but I still believe safety comes first. Would you have done the same? Have you ever had to make a hard call like this? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. #ParentingDecisions #TeenSafety #FamilyFirst #Parenting
