Meet T. rex’s Long-Lost ‘Dragon Prince’ Cousin

Turns out, T. rex wasn’t always the king! Scientists just ID’d a new dino from Mongolia called Khankhuuluu mongoliensis—aka the “Dragon Prince”—that lived 20 million years before T. rex. This guy was smaller, faster, and had steak-knife teeth for slashing smaller prey. Basically, it’s the missing link that shows how T. rex’s family went from speedy hunters to giant apex predators.
