I Thought a Sundial Would Save My Sanity

To the version of me who thought building a sundial would be a wholesome weekend project: I wish I could warn you. I pictured sunlight, learning, maybe a sweet photo for the family album. Instead, I spent hours hunched over plywood, cursing at protractors, second-guessing every angle, and realizing I don’t actually know which way is north. The kids lost interest after the first pebble. My partner tried to help, but we argued about whether 15 degrees is really 15 degrees. The shadow never lined up.
